Poached Pears

Ingredients

  • 4 pears peeled (any variety is fine)
  • 1 bottle vegan red wine
  • 1/2 cup date syrup
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
  • Bring to a boil, then simmer, turning the pears occasionally, until the liquid condenses down to a syrup (about 1 hour).
  • Serve warm with the syrup drizzled over pears.
