- 4 pears peeled (any variety is fine)
- 1 bottle vegan red wine
- 1/2 cup date syrup
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 4 cardamom pods
- 1 bay leaf
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer, turning the pears occasionally, until the liquid condenses down to a syrup (about 1 hour).
- Serve warm with the syrup drizzled over pears.
