Mushroom Walnut Pate aka Mock Chopped Liver
- 8 oz mushrooms chopped or sliced
- 1 cup raw walnuts
- 1 red onion chopped
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeas optional
- 1 tsp white miso optional
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Saute mushrooms and onion in a pan over medium heat, until liquid from mushrooms completely evaporates.
- Let cool.
- Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Serve with crackers and/or raw vegetables.
This pate will start turn grey where exposed to air. There isn't anything wrong with that. Just give it a good stir.
