- 4 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 14 oz non-dairy milk
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup currants or raisins (Optional and not traditional.)
Place a Dutch oven in the oven and preheat to 425 degrees F.
Combine non-dairy milk and vinegar and set aside.
Combine dry ingredients (and raisins, if including).
Pour in wet mixture and stir until just mixed.
Form dough into a slightly flattened disc, place in the Dutch oven and score the top.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes.
