Chocolate Waffles (Vegan and Oil Free)
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup date sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 1/2 cups non-dairy milk
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp milled flax seed
- Combine wet ingredients and milled flax seed. Set aside.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Add wet ingredients to dry and fold to incorporate.
- Let sit while waffle iron heats up.
- Spray waffle iron with a little oil and ladle in the batter. Cook according to waffle iron instructions.
- Top with fresh fruit, if desired.
